Sustainable & Eco Friendly Travel at Interrailing Packages

In today’s world, where climate change is a major concern, it is extremely important for individuals and businesses to take steps towards becoming more eco-friendly. As a business, being eco-friendly not only helps the environment but also sets a good example for others to follow. In this blog article, we will discuss how we at Interrailing packages are eco-friendly and promote sustainable travel- we discuss what steps we take to reduce our carbon footprint on a day-to-day basis.

Train travel vs Plane travel:

One of the most common but simplest ways to cut back on emissions is to take less flights. There are many other travel options for those wanting to explore the world and this is where we come in-

It is widely known that train journeys (electric or diesel) produce one of the lowest levels of greenhouse gasses and other harmful pollutants.

To eliminate or reduce the use of flights taken, we offer the Eurostar option leaving from LONDON on most of our interrail packages. This can also be added on to any of our trips if needed.

App Tickets:

In recent years we have came away from the classic paper tickets and now ONLY provide this information via an APP.

On the app all our customers can access their ticketsAccommodations and reservations, which in turn eliminates the need for printed tickets. This not only saves paper but also makes the booking process easier for our customers as everything is now in the one place.

Solar Panels:

We have installed solar panels on our office rooftop at Interrailing packages HQ, which generates clean energy for our office. This has not only helped us to reduce our electricity bills but also our reliance on fossil fuels. By using clean energy, we have reduced our carbon footprint, making a positive impact on the environment.

It goes without saying, Recycling is and always has been an important part of our ethos here at Interrailing Packages.

We are committed to recycling as much waste as possible in our office.

We have designated recycling bins for paper, plastic, glass, and metal, which are collected and recycled by our waste management company.

By recycling, we are reducing the amount of waste that goes to the landfill, conserving natural resources, and reducing our carbon footprint.

Planting Trees:

Using the compost we create; we then plant trees around the outside of our office. Planting a tree provides numerous benefits to the environment including reduced energy costs and Improved air quality. Our boss takes great pride in his trees.

Paperless Booking Process:

One of the significant ways we reduce our carbon footprint is through our paperless booking process. We have eliminated paper completely from our booking process, and all our bookings are made through our online platform. This not only saves paper but also saves time and money in printing and mailing tickets out customers and promotes eco friendly travel.

Over recent years, we have implemented a composting system at our office which converts our organic waste into nutrient-rich soil. (Tea bags, banana skins, Breads, pastas and rice, eggshells etc)

By doing this, we are reducing the amount of waste we send to the landfill, which in turn reduces the amount of methane gas produced by the landfill.

Trees4Travel is part of the United Nations Environment Program; One Trillion Trees campaign and aims to support up to 13 of 17 UN global sustainability goals. At Interrailing packages, we have incorporated this campaign into our daily working patterns by encouraging our customers to sign up and help offset their travel emissions and in return we match this.

Above are just some of the steps we at Interrailing Packages have taken towards achieving this eco-friendly office. We hope that our efforts will inspire others to take similar steps to becoming more eco-friendly and reducing their impact on the environment.
