Why Visit Salzburg, Austria?

Situated right in the heart of Austria, Salzburg was an independent state from the rest of the country until 1816. It is synonymous with music as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born here. It hosts the annual Salzburg Festival, which showcases many operas and attracts millions every year. Salzburg is also where ‘The Sound of Music’ was filmed.

However, Salzburg is not only the home of Mozart and The Sound of Music, it also has as vibrant arts scene, wonderful food, beautiful parks, side streets filled with buskers and opera singers, and concert halls.

Salzburg’s Old Town is a UNESCO World Cultrual Heritage site and is famous for its baroque architecture, alpine setting, and picturesque location on the Salzach River. It has countless narrow cobblestone streets, old churches, and beautiful squares.
