Why Visit Marseille, France?

Visit Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde

Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde is the city’s best-know symbol.  It occupies Marseille’s highest point, this opulent 19th century basilica is built on the foundations of a 16th century fort.  It is Marseille’s most visited icon.

Le Panier 

Wander around in Marseille’s oldest district of Le Panier with it vibrant steep and narrow streets. Le Panier (the basket) is in the city’s historic centre on a hill, and it is the site of the original Greek settlement.

Vieux Port

Marseille Old Port is a beautiful harbour which is situated in a charming old neighbourhood. It has a gorgeous cathedral, restaurants and bars.

Things to do: Monaco!  

Monaco is the smallest country in the world, a popular spot for tourists as it is very close to the French Riviera, so on a visit to Marseille, you could take a day trip here. It’s also the place where the rich and famous come to stay as it’s filled with luxurious hotels, resorts, and casinos. Monaco is only 2 square km, less than 1 mile!
