  • Paris

The first stop on the list to end your interrail journey across Europe is, Paris. The city of love, it also has a lot to offer travellers. Without a doubt, Paris is the global centre for art, fashion, culture, and gastronomy. Not to mention the many famous landmarks such as Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Élysées and watch the Eiffel Tower come alive at night with the phenomenal light show each night you’re there.
  • Bruges

Then you visit Bruges, dominated by churches and museums, this quiet little city has A LOT to offer! The most well preserved European medieval city that takes you on a trip back in time. At this point in time and despite the increased number of visits, it still hasn’t become a cliche city to visit. In addition to this, the city packed with beautiful squares and surrounded by gingerbread houses. Cobbled alleys that run alongside pretty canals. Travellers flock to Bruges for its picturesque parks, sentimental legends and old-world hotels. A unique stop for any interrail trip!
  • Amsterdam

What’s an interrail trip without the Dam? The capital of the Netherlands offers a truly unique experience for travellers, which is why it’s an interrailing favourite. In truth, there are more bikes than people in this city. Overall, Amsterdam is rich in history, some of Europe’s best museums and galleries are located here. In addition to this, the nightlife here will not disappoint. Maybe you fancy a few cosmos or to dance the night away. Or why not see the Red Light District in all its glory? There’s definitely something for every type of traveller. Kicking off interrailing across Europe the right way!
  • Berlin

Straightaway you will understand why Berlin is similar to New York, as it’s a city that never sleeps. Otherwise known as the lotus-eaters of Germany, the locals here love nothing more than a good time. However, don’t let this put you off as they have something for all age groups, budgets, and tastes. Not to mention, history will greet you at every corner. In short, Berlin staged a revolution, headquartered by Nazis, bombed to bits, divided in two and then finally, reunited.
  • Prague

Prague is like Paris in terms of its beauty and is nicknamed the “City of Spires”. Although, the beer is definitely better here! The Czech’s are famous for finding some of the world’s most popular brews. To begin, start the trip in the Old Town Square and see what amazing sights you can stumble upon down those cobbled streets. If you enjoy people watching, be sure to visit the Charles Bridge, one of the oldest bridges in Europe still in use.
  • Budapest

The Hungarian capital has a charm that lies amongst the many cultural influences that have affected the city during its long history. With this in mind, it’s important to remember what the locals say, the past of this city is literally around every corner. During your time here, witness the bullet holes from WWII and the 1956 Uprising, not forgetting those poignant and famous shoes on the Danube memorial. In truth, the beautiful baths with healing properties and stunning architecture are enough reason to visit the “City of Spas”.

Testimonials

5* Well what can I say! An absolutely fabulous experience from start to finish, even with an unexpected stop over in the middle of Germany due to the thunderstorms that they had this summer. Donal stepped in and made sure we got to Cologne the next day – nothing was too much trouble.

We travelled with our 16 and 21 year old sons and I can honestly say it was one of the best holidays we’ve had as a family. Didn’t use the usual hostels etc, in fact my friends called our trip glintterailing! Donal put together a package using four and five star hotels with first class rail travel all the way.

My boys are asking if we can plan a similar trip next year which is definitely on the cards seeming I’ll be celebrating my 50th birthday.
